Last week, I discovered the concept of “interactive ad” on the http://www.fox.com website. I wanted to watch the latest X-Files episodes for free on their website. I had to choose between “a normal commercial break of 2:30” and “a 30 second interactive ad”. As I am a rational guy, I chose the interactive option, and I found it quite innovative and creative.
As an example, I could see these ads of Emirates airlines, I had to navigate into multiple options and screens, which was a better experience than just watching a default video.
Fox TV launched this initiative in August 2015, during the finale of Masterchef Junior in the US, after acquiring the TrueX start-up company.
