FDR Memorial

FDR stands for Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the only President of the United States that completed three terms (1933-1945).

FDR Memorial in Washington DC is located near the tidal basin, inaugurated by President Bill Clinton in 1997. My favorite elements are these tactile reliefs with Braille.

They refer to disability in connection to the personal disability of FDR. Actually, FDR was paralyzed and could not walk large distances (due to polio or  Guillain–Barré syndrome), he had to use a wheelchair but it was carefully hidden on official images.
