Native American Heritage Month

Since 1990 (under George H. W. Bush presidency), November is the US federal “Native American (Indian) Heritage Month”. It is a commemoration of the Native Americans cultures and traditions. From 1976 (under Gerald R. Ford presidency) to 1989, there was an “American Indian (Awareness) Week”.

The beautiful picture above comes from the Department of Interior website, it was taken at the DoI cafeteria last year: http://www.doi.gov/blog/celebrate-native-american-heritage-month. As you must know, my son goes to the daycare there, and I am proud of that 😉 For all the details on this heritage month, you can also visit the dedicated governmental website: https://nativeamericanheritagemonth.gov/about/
